What's the difference between a

What's the difference between a right hand and a left hand propellor?

On a boat with two props, does a right hand prop go on the right side?

Which set of dive planes do I actually control with the radio (depends on the size/scale of the boat)?

Why can't I use my airplane r/c system in a sub? The answer should include a link to the FCC rules.

for instance, I don't know what a Dubro is, a picture would clear that up.
Others might not know what a seal looks like. or a piston tank.
i.e. all least all stuff specific for the sub hobby should
have it's picture taken.

Ok I know this is not a question but had to though this one in .
I was standing on the bridge where I run my subs today and had my 47 in the water running out on the surface and underwater back toward me ,when a guy and his kid walked up and stood about ten feet away .The little boy told his dad to look at the boat and the daddy replied that is a submarine son. The little boy said to his dad (Daddy that guy sure is going to be mad because his boat is sinking) That was the funniest thing I have heard yet when running a sub.

Frequently I have been asked (and I have read the previous posts in an attempt not to repeat anything)..

1) Where can I buy a cheap one?

2) Whats the best ballast system?

3) How do I stop the water from leaking through movable control surfaces?

4) What's the best Water tight cylinder?

Qs 1 can be answered if I am in the wrong mood like "get a milk carton drill some holes, and attach some string" , but in all seriousness if you addressed this to the newby as others have pointed out, costs are often high on the list of first questions and it would be good to have a reply that was somewhat realistic.

Qs 2,3,4 I guess all require subjectivity in the answers and I think it would be wrong for anyone to say system x is better than system y. I take it Tim you would want to provide answers with pros and cons of doing things different ways?

Whilst the vast majority of members are from North America, and no dount newbies might be too, can the page list local contact points from the various oversea chapters. I and other SC members in Australia, like other chapters, am only too happy to help out when we can. This I think is really quite important, in that whilst the SC site is fantastic, and over the years I valued very much help from the good people in the US, nothing beats having a guy also up the road that can show you how to do things or where to buy something locally. In a lot cases the components / adhesives / paints etc that are avaliable from local hardware stores / hobby shops / electrical outlets etc in the US have different brand names elsewhere or actually might not be avaliable, and in particular I have found this is where a local contact may be of greater assistance to the new guy.

I do not know the brand Dubro. at all. so any referral would have to be "translated" to whatever brands we have available here in Europe.
that's easier then we have a few pictures of the more sub-related
items.

(I know I can look it up at the dubro site, but it is just an example.
things that are household items over there, might not be known
here ]
