Gentlemen,
The way I see it...
Gentlemen,
The way I see it... We have the newbie’s, regular SC members, and the experts. The experts tend to do all the heavy work in this hobby and produce kits for us mere mortals. It's the same in any hobby.
However, RC Subs is not a hobby for the masses like model cars or aircraft. The time and expense involved in building a RC Sub does limits the exposure to this hobby.
I've belonged to the SC since 2003, and I know that I'm no expert. I don't mean to preach to the choir, or the choir directors. However, I believe we all depend on one another. If the experts don't have the newbie’s or current SC members to purchase their products, then they will go out of business and curse in the darkness. If we don't have access to the ingenious products produced by the few, then the hobby becomes more difficult for all and will fade away. Therefore, I see no reason for this topic of discussion.
Kind Regards,
Don_

Tim,
Forgive me for being my
Tim,
Forgive me for being my usual day or two behind the curve. The fact is, though I knew it existed, I only just tonight saw your post (thanks to Crozier's elbow in the ribs and pointed finger) because I'm such dope when it comes to navigating forum sites -- our own, SubPirates', DisneySub's, whose-ever.
What a breath of fresh air! I can see that quite unlike my usual political participations, my presidential vote at least in the SC realm was not wasted. You are exactly what this organization needs, right when we need it, and I'm proud to call you skipper. Congrats again! Long may your banner wave. And may that wonderful letter, or some version thereof, become your inaugural column in the SCR. I was particularly pleased to hear your views on growing the group and raising revenues, especially through improving the website and offering SC-branded "product."
You have the conn, Mr. Smalley,
Jeff Porteous
