Problem with some of the December issues - missing/duplicated pages

    All,

So far three members have received their Dec issue and reported back to me that their issue had pages missing, with duplicated pages where the missing pages should have been. This is a very rare problem with the assembly of the magazine at the printshop -- in fact, this is the first time it's happened since I became editor.

This does not seem to be a widespread problem with the Dec issue, but as many of you still have not received yours yet (due to the mail being slower than the Pony Express) I have no way of knowing how many issues were mis-assembled. Therefore, I wanted to make everyone aware of this potential problem. We do print extra issues, so if you received an issue with missing/duplicated pages, please email both myself and Don Osler (editor@subcommittee.com and membership@subcommittee.com, respectively) so we can get a replacement issue out to you right away.

For those of you who received a mis-assembled issue, I do apologize for the inconvenience.

    Many thanks,

    Carl

      All,

      I just heard back from

      All,

I just heard back from the printshop on this matter, and was told that there should be very few issues with missing or duplicated pages. Apparently what happened is that some of the "make-ready pieces" they use to practice the assembly were accidently mixed in with the good magazines and shipped. They weren't sure how many of these were mixed in, but it should be less than a dozen and maybe as few as 4 or 5.

Anyways, if you happen to get one of these "make-ready pieces" that was shipped to you by accident, please email Don and myself and we'll get it replaced with the real McCoy.

      Thanks,

      Carl

        Hey, these "make ready" practice

Hey, these "make ready" practice issues sound like the misprinted stamps the Post Office sometimes puts out -- very rare and very VALUABLE! Recipients might wanna keep 'em as collectors' items!

(Spoken like a guy who works in the ad biz and has had his mistakes see print on more occasions than he'd care to admit.)
