Thor Alfa People

Hello all.. I am going to be starting my Thor Alfa kit sometime soon.. I was luck to aquire one from atomic subs a few weeks back. Thank you Erv. I am fairly new to the hobby and this sub is what got me into it. I have made a qrod document of Matt's online Permit directions, but I am curious if anyone has photos of there Alfa from begging to end. Just as a guide line for me. Or even just pictures in general how you chose to attach the top to the bottom for running and how much you cut when you attached the top stern to the bottom stern and so on. I don't think I will screw it up but I just want to make it as well as some I've seen. Dave Merrimans yours is GREAT!!!! Thanks in advance...

I have a sizable collection of pics of mine, and other Thor Alfas.
Not the least of which is Gail Phillip's Alfa. A name I never see on this board. A member of Subron 5. His boat, like Paul Crozier's Permit, is the best example I have seen of a finished Thor kit.
Gail also brought this fine Seawolf, also a Thor kit, to the last Subron 5 meet. First time in the water it took off like a barracuda!

My Thor Alfa was the best running sub I've owned to date. (I would have liked to have gotten an updated version, but I have no idea when I would find the time to build it. )

It was an easy build, and with a D&E WTC for propulsion, I was able to get it running just as quickly.

I have some stuff on my website - not a full build up sequence but I do show how I hold the top on, etc. It was my first sub and it was a good one to start on. Paul Hruby walked me through it via email - that was before Matt had detailed assembly instructions that came with his kits. There was also some good info in back SCR issues that helped. Issues # 22, 27, 29, 30. It is a complete build up of a Thor Sturgeon. Hull prep to installing bearings and linkages.
