    I'm still trying to figure

I'm still trying to figure out how my question]SubCommittee[/i] over the years speak for themselves. My guess is that the opinions you are referring to come from one or two individuals who have real problems with how the SubCommittee is run. To those folks, I absolutely encourage them to get involved in the various leadership positions and to help make a difference. Anyone who chooses to whine behind closed doors and to ghost complaints is not contributing anything to either the hobby or the organization.

Is it any wonder that we have difficulty getting members to come forward and help run the organization when those that do have to put up with folks taking potshots at their intentions and integrity?

And we are still waiting for you to identify yourself!

      I am the type of

I am the type of person to be up front; when you see a person that is going to other websites and saying that you are going to be starting another website looking to cover it all, well to me (and it appears perhaps others as well) to be a slight on the very websight that you are posting on. That is just the impression that it gave me. Secondly, when you begin to use vulgarities, you credibility goes from low to almost nothing. The reasoning is that none know who you are and then you go tell them off, you being the new guy.

I admit that you gained some credability with your last post. Perhaps you might try and take do over, and start off telling a little about yourself, what you do and how you plan to make a contribution, then after you have gained some respect from the community, ask for oppinions of what might be helpful to newbees. Then you might tell that you are puting to gether your website with planned introduction of goods. That is just my oppinion, your idea is not necessarly bad, only the execution.

            The real name of SubAquaModels

[color=#FF0000]The real name of SubAquaModels is Michael Hims. This is my normal handle on both this site and RCGroups.com

I have about three years experience in this hobby, and have been a member on both forums for most of that time.

I have three things to say]

              I had not seen this

I had not seen this thread for a couple of days. Being that my handle had been dragged around a little I guess I had better pipe up!

I don't mind more websites - the more exposure to the hobby the better. It has always been my intent that my site would compliment the SubCommittee's, not replace it - steering new guys to the SubCommittee site. I even mention on my homepage and a number of times in the several hundred pages - that if you are serious about model subs - YOU HAVE TO JOIN THE SUBCOMMITTEE.

However the name calling is not appreciated. Even if it is retracted - as the judge said "you can't unring a bell."
Jeff has done a HUGE amount of work to keep the club healthy. To paraphrase, he is the embodiment of "Ask not what your club can do for you..." he has done it.

I suspect if the sneaky and immature dropping of a letter to call someone a dirty name was done about anyone other than himself, Jeff would have deleted the thread. He's just that kind of guy. If he's an @$$hole, he's my kind of @$$hole.

As an officer of any organization, you are bound to tick a few people off just because you have to have rules and enforce them. Jeff has earned the respect of the organization by being there for 6 years (longer with his pre-vice presidency). How about you?

By the way, SubAqua said he had contacted everyone sub website related - I don't remember being contacted - unless it was under some other name. I don't have "SubAqua" listed in my Palm Pilot.

                  Why not let Aqua put

Why not let Aqua put together a beginers section in the subcommittees website. He could start with maybe combineing the scratchbuilt thread; pictures; we have all been following on the type 7. (Hope I picked the right boat)

Most times I spend my time reading threads because not much new happens with the other sections of the subcommittee website.

                        Michael,

You've yet to have a working sub in the water!!

I think you ought to do that before putting websites together 'informing' others how to do it.

                          Andy,

I have actually put one in the water. Scratch build used pump in, pump out to dive. However it was an 'entry effort' and a bit of an embarrassment to look at.

I haven't had that email in years. I post here all the time, and on the RC Groups board so there is no problem finding me including in the SubCommittee directory.

It says your yahoo address but the link points to your older one.

Thats why I wasn't sure of your current address. If that makes sense?
