    THE 2005, 133 FOOT MODEL - It's a semi-submerged vessel

I had a visitor from the northwest area of the US. In his home town there periodically would be 50 foot long sections of [model] submarines being trucked through the streets to be tested in a nearby 1,225 foot deep lake. This is the US Navy's equivalent of the Air Force's "Area 51" where far-out aircraft are tested and developed. Below is a recap of part of what was on the message board before and the second section half details what this ship will be.

    RECAP.

    NEW AND MANY DETAILS
WHAT THE ABOVE TEST BED MODEL WILL BE USED TO TEST FOR.

The DD-21 Zumwalt Class of ships are the US Navys newest 'transformational' ships, designed to bring the navy renewal for the 21st century. The craft is a semi sub- merged vessel and will be built with stealth in mind. The vessel will be the Navys newest land attack destroyer design, and will support joint service requirements in littoral regions. It will be armed with an array of land attack weapons, and will provide sustained offensive and precise firepower at long range in support of forces ashore. The 'Double-D' program also includes the development and use of new electric propulsion systems.
