Fort Trumbull State Park, New London
In the New London/Groton, CT area they have just opened a new state park with a most interesting military history exhibit. Olde Fort Trumbull has now been fully converted to a state park with its waterfront and docks completely redone. The old officers' quarters has been turned into a large visitors' center with an excellent multimedia exhibit area. This center reviews the history of this initially Revolutionary War fort, its improvements and its final days as the US Navy's Underwater Sound Laboratory. Additionally, this area is directly across the river from EB, where submarines are made and repaired.
