    U-853 LIKELY CLAIMS 1 MORE DIVER - Right depth. Right location.

    [color=#000000]U-853 PROBABLY CLAIMS ANOTHER DIVER.

    Location and depth consistant with U-853 wreck site position. I'm not sure of the number of divers killed at this site, but there are 2 or 3 previously killed here. In the next day or so more information will likely be made public. The following was heard earlier on the news this evening and is now on the internet.

    BLOCK ISLAND, R.I. --A 41-year-old man died Sunday while diving off the coast of Rhode Island, according to the Coast Guard.
    The unidentified man was diving seven miles east of Block Island at a depth of 120 feet when he lost consciousness. He was not breathing when he returned to the surface.

    PHILLIPSBURG -- Deep-sea diver and instructor Stephen Hardick died Sunday during a scuba diving expedition off the coast of Rhode Island. Hardick and three other divers had been exploring a submarine near Block Island, the U.S. Coast Guard said.

    "If this was his time, then this is how he would have wanted to go," his son Mike said. "He was doing something he loved."

    Hardick was gathering footage of a German U-boat he planned to use for a public access television show as well as a diving convention.

    Stephen Hardick had been diving about 120 feet below the surface Sunday and was unconscious when he surfaced, according to Bryan Davidson, U.S. Coast Guard petty officer. Davidson said Hardick's crewmates were performing CPR when help arrived about 1]
