    SubRegatta '05

Just got back from SubRegatta ‘05. WOW!! BRAVO ZULU to all the SubRon 6 and Indianapolis Admirals crew. A job very well done. Heavy cooperation from the town of Carmel, great weather, a fantastic site, and a very strong attendance from the bubblehead community resulted in arguably one of the best SubRegattas I’ve been to and I’ve been to all of ‘em. Tim did a quickie count of boats on the tables Saturday afternoon and came up with 86! That’s not too shabby. And, to top it off, I heard not one complaint!

As I said, well done, guys! There’s no question about whether I’ll be back next year.

    ####, and I missed it.

####, and I missed it. If not for radio issues and the bar exam this past week I would have been there.

      I concur with Skip. Those

I concur with Skip. Those who didn't make it missed a good one. The folks who put this on deserve a pat on the back and thanks for sure. Meeting the legends of rc subs was also great and I hope it happens in Carmel again next year.

            Great job! Tim, you went

Great job! Tim, you went over-board this weekend. Take 2 beers out of petty cash and enjoy yourself, you deserve it. Lots of people with lots of questions. It was fun even with the 9 hour drive with Crazy Ivan at the helm.

                Yeah! What they said! And

Yeah! What they said! And let me add a huge thank you to all the vendors and individuals who contributed goodies to the raffel table. My particular thanks to Dave Manley of Small World Models for his donations, as I won a pair of his motors. More than one of our SubRon 8 members went home with SWM items thanks to Dave. Overall, Our 'Rochester Gang' made a good showing in the drawing this year.

Another nice touch happened at the awards ceremony, when Art Broder was recognized for his pioneering work with RCABS. No matter who runs with the ball on this system in the future, it was Art who found and made available the small, affordable air pumps that make the system practical, and made believers out of so many of us. Congratulations Art, well deserved!

Tim, you, SubRon 6 and the Admirals have my vote for an encore next year!

                  Sorry I could not attend.

Sorry I could not attend. But I could easily tell it was going to be one of the best ever. I the midst of kitchen remodel. No kitchen remodel next year. Perhaps a few surpises too (building projects wise).

                  Congratulations.

On behalf of the Indianapolis Admirals, I want to thank all that attended and helped out in anyway at the Subregatta. We had a great time and loved sharing our pond. Whenever the decision is made for next year's event, I want all to know that you are more than welcome to come back to Carmel. The city has already offered their assistance in coordinating another event. There are many great places in our country to have the event and other factors to consider, I just want you to know that the Subcommittee is always welcome here.
