    New SCR Issue

    Hello friends,

I am interested if the SC staff sent the June reports to Europe because I didn´t received nothing from you.

Best regards and enjoy your vacation time commanding your winter subs!

    Nothing in Victoria, BC yet,

Nothing in Victoria, BC yet, either, however it is usually several weeks late for international members.

I'd recommend a bit more patience, but if the SCR staff could let us know when we should expect them, that'd be great.

        Just received mine two days

Just received mine two days ago (Monday) in Oakdale, CT. They are in the mail; please be patient! As was explained by Carl, some technical issues held up the magazine for a month or so. Overseas will take a little while longer. As for Bob in Canada....who knows? (just kidding).

Also, if you ever have felt like writing an article for the SCR, NOW is the time! Carl & the staff can only put together material that is on hand, and I can tell you there is a growing shortage. So, please consider writing about that model you are building or the submarine history research that you are doing, or a sub event near you.

              Some of the delay may

Some of the delay may be due to your local post office, as the magazine is not first class mail (unless you pay extra for that service- I don't). Usually people receive the magazine spread out over about a week or so in the CONUS, longer delays for overseas.

                        Still no magazine in Holland.
                        Not

                        Still no magazine in Holland.
Not so long ago I had to wait for something too coming from the US. It took a h.... of a time to get here.
Sure hope this is a one of a kind. I get the distinct feeling I'm treated 2 rate. Kind of....well he lives on the other side of the globe....who cares?

                        A not so very pleased,

                          Folks,

Please contact our membership chairman, Don Osler, for all replacement issue requests. Don can be reached at membership@sibcommittee.com.

We need to check with Carl for specifics, but the June issue was mailed about 3 weeks late....which unfortunately has a greater impact on our international members and more to do with the various post offices involved.

                          -many thanks,

                          Jeff

                            Fellow Sub-Committee members,

                            Despite my best

                            Fellow Sub-Committee members,

Despite my best intentions, the June issue of the SCR was mailed out roughly 4 weeks late. This was a combination of many things, not the least of which was a long period of overtime at work. I received my June issue on July 2nd, suprising me greatly as I subscribed for the US bulk rate, not first class. Your issues should be arriving shortly. Please accept my sincere apology for the delay. I plan to print a more formal apology to the membership in the September issue.

I'm also afraid that I'm now running behind on the September issue. The overtime as work has increased dramatically, even more so than the last two months, and I often have been working until 2 or 3 in the morning and on weekends. I have little time to see my family right now, let alone work on the Sept. issue, and this will undoubtedly continue for the next several weeks.

All I can do is ask for your patience and understanding. This is, after all, a volunteer position -- no one is paying me to do this. When I volunteered for this position last October, my job gave me no sign of needing this amount of overtime. That all changed this spring with my being re-assigned to a new project. I would like to continue on as editor, hoping that I can get past this current hump at work and into a calmer fall season. However, if the membership feels that they would better be served by having someone else as editor, I will gracefully step down. It troubles me greatly that I have let you all down, and I hope you can forgive me.

I do wish to sincerely thank those faithful few who heard the call for a lack of articles, and have responded so warmly and quickly with articles. I'm happy to say we now have enough articles to fill the September issue, with one or two articles in the hopper for December. More articles are needed for the December issue, but I deeply grateful for those who worked so hard to get new articles done so I'd have enough for the September issue. You guys, along with my fantastic fellow staff members, make this job worth all the time and energy. I deeply regret not being able to be at the Regatta this summer, as I would have loved to have had the chance to meet you and thank you personally.

For my fellow SCR staff members, I will be trying to send stuff out for proofreading and layout shortly. Again, please forgive me for not doing it sooner. I'm afraid I will need your help more than ever with the September issue.

                            Sincerely,

                            Carl
