I'll be glad to offer
I'll be glad to offer an abbreviated description!
The three busiest people in the SubCommittee are (in no particular order) the treasurer, the membership chairman, and the SCR editor.
You'll undoubtably note that only the Treasurer is an elected position.
The roles of the position of president and vice president are very dependent upon what is happening within the organization. If things are going well, there isn't a lot that needs to be done. Please note the use of the word "needs". Since the Executive Committee is charged with overseeing the overall health of the SubCommittee, this is usually taken to mean that we are always attempting to make the organization better...through both big and little investments of our time.
There have been times when the job responsibilities have requried a lot of time. For example when we were getting the new web site up and running. (this would be one of those "big things") Or simply providing guidance to Local Chapters (an example of the "little thing")
One thing that is always a part of these jobs is politics. Even in an organization llike ours....there always seems to be something brewing!
I would say that over the almost six years that I have served as vice president, that excepting the "big things", it has not required a lot of my time as VP. Now as SCR editor....that was a different story!
