Based on his committment (did I spell that right??) to the hobby and (almost fanatical...) promotion of same, I would like to nominate Mr. Tim Smalley as President of the SubCommittee.

Besides, he's a pretty d@#! good modeller too.

We cannot 'fix' anything if the issue is not brought to our attention.

Also, simply stating that the forums are slow does not necessarily mean that it is a forum problem......so for those that may be experiencing performance issues, please provide some specific details including traceroute information.

it has been brought to attention in another thread about website problems etc etc... and although it was looked into a while, it seems it has never been fixed.... of all the forums i post in (my rc forums, online sim racing forums, remote video photography forums etc etc etc) this is the only forum that is repeadatly salowwwwwww lol
at home on cable or here at work on a 10megb conneciton its still the same.... if it were faster i'd be hanging out here all day so some of u may not want it fixed I love this place!

Not to continue taking this thread more off topic, but I for one have not really experienced any problems with the forums being slow. Only a couple times have I had any trouble- in fact I might add that I am a member of several forums and this is the fastest one that I ever have used.

Just my $0.02 worth...

Jonathan helps to make the point about trying to track down performance issues. It's not that we aren't concerned, but with the little information that we have, it has been difficult to pin down the problem(s).

.....so please provide the details, including traceroute information, and we'll be glad to fix any site-specifc problems!

Been away a couple days,

Been away a couple days, and came back to see a thread with 2 pages concerning nominations of officers.

"Great!" thinks me. "The membership is getting involved!"

Then I open the thread, and see that most of it is discussion of slow forums, etc.

Major let down.

Might I humbly suggest that if the membership doesn't get it's collective posteriors in gear and court some dedicated folks for nomination (the correct way, through the nomination committee, not just posting their name on a message board) that 6 months from now you won't have slow forums to whine about.

its a bit difficult for me I do not know any of the officers as well as I should have, one thing I have to know is, and I think it would help if the responsabilities for each officer were known to all so if this info could be posted I am sure it would help most of make nominations
