    Adhesives for Thor Hull

Joining the rear portion of the hull together top and bottom.

What to use Someone said Gorilla Glue OK ?

Elmers Probound Polyurethane? Who sells this?

Another person mentioned Fusion and SuperCrlic from a company called Deluxematerials. I went to thier web page and they sound good but Where would you get this stuff?

Also need to install the WTC cradles into the hull etc.

    Help

    DO NOT use Gorilla Glue.

DO NOT use Gorilla Glue. It foams up and expands. Terrible stuff - at least for my money. I always use long cure epoxy. Scar up the edges of the saddles so the epoxy has something to grab onto.

      Paul Crozier wrote an excellent

Paul Crozier wrote an excellent "how to" on building a Thor hull in one of last years Reoprts. I think Matt had it on his website also. Having personally seen Paul's boat, follow it, and you cannot go wrong.
I would think glassing the stern together with matte strips and epoxy resin would work. Epoxy resin and micro ballons will work well for setting the saddles. Again, I would get my hands on Paul's article and read it. You cannot go wrong.

        It looks like the Permit

It looks like the Permit Instructions are no longer on Matts site. When you click on the link (mentioned in the message below) you get a 404 error.

Check the June 2004 SCR for Paul Crozier's Building the Thor Permit article. In it he recommends letting CA be drawn by capilary action to between the saddle and the hull which tacks them into place. Then brush a batch of 50/50 epoxy and microballoons into the seams between the hull and the saddles. Build a fillet around the base of each saddle with the mixture.

Some good tips thanks. I will go back in my SCR's.

Anyone have experience with the Elmers Probond Polyurethane?

Anyone have experience with PC 7 or PC 11?
They are from PR-Products also know as Protective Coating Co.
          Someone once mentioned this material.

              The site is checked monthly

The site is checked monthly for link continuity. Other than the order buttons(you must order from Atomicsubs.com), I could find no 404 errors on the site. I maybe busy and away from hobbies right now due to work commitments, but I am not dead, nor is the site. There are still new products in development, albeit very slowly. Do not use any polyurethane adhesives. They do not form a long term bond with most epoxies. Gorrilla glue is great for wood, but horrible in the water and especially on composites. As Tim says above, use only long pot life, long cure epoxies.

Must be missing one. I went to the following page]Permit Kit[/url]

The link to the assembly instructions is broken

Looks like an extra directory called "site" is being listed in the link making it break.

Very strange. I will get that one fixed. I missed that link...

                    Try this one.

You might want to print it out as we are considering shutting the site down.

Help ... you recommend printing out the construction tips but everytime I try, I lose about 20% of the right side of the page ... even when I select 'landscape'. I'm computer stupid and don't know how to get the whole page. If the index wasn't there, it'd be ok. Can you advise?

                          Hi Ray -
Go to the file menu at the very top of the page and select "PAGE SETUP"

Make sure your left and right margins are set to something like .3 or .5

Then go back to the File menu and click on "Print Preview". It will show you what the page will look like printed out. Hopefully everything will be copasetic!
