    Hi Everyone,
I need a little bit of info on a website with a type VIIC boat kit on it.The website had some info about the boat describing it but not in any great detail .The name that was listed on the site to contact about this boat was a Mr. John Bertola and a telephone number in the U.K. I beleive.I would appreciate any more info that could be had or e-mail address where I can get hold of someone to supply me with additional info regarding this boat.
    Thankyou,
    T.D.

        If I'm correctly informed Mr.

If I'm correctly informed Mr. Bertola was one of the modelmakers from Andrea Miniatures. The type VII you see in the book "Das Boot" from Andrea shows exactly what you get but for a lesser price.
By the way, I never had bisuness with Mr. Bertola so I do not know what kind of vendor he is nor do I know customers of him who could tell me.
So, if you are going to buy something let us know how things went.

        Kind regards
        U-Kater

His uboat used to use the entire upper hull/tower, etc of the Accurate Armour kit. If you know anything about AA, they make a spectacular waterline static model of SOLID resin of the Type VII. (note the emphasis....) Think about what that means if you plan on R/Cing the model.

If you want a really accurate Type VII, you'd do well to get the OTW boat.

Thanks to everyone,I have been looking around at everything out there including the OTW, the ROG conversion kit,the Robbe U-47,the Engle type 9,and everything in between. They all look good and each has its own advantages and disadvantages.I just need to sort it all out,a friend told me to check into this latest one,but I just can`t find the info that I want.I just don`t want to be stuck with a boat that I`m not happy with.So far it`s going to be the OTW or the ROG conversion kit, .Unless something better comes along.
              Thanks again

If I'm not wrong, the Accurate Armour conning tower is in a 1/35 scale? I saw some Robbe U-47s with this tower setup and it seems to be bigger than the Robbe stock tower when mounted on the boat. Scale difference?

If you have an envy for a Type II U-boat check this out.

                80" Type II

This gentleman sells a nice 80 inch Type II hull kit.

                    Hi all
Just to let anyone know I used the AA tower on my robbe boat a few years ago and the space it toook up on the deck was almost the same as the original robbe tower. Check out my members homepage under dave goddard and you will see my type 7 with the AA tower and later pictures with Andrea miniatures figures
                    Cheers

I'm not sure who your "friend" is, but I'd be very careful about ordering this model. The use of all solid resin upper hull and conning tower makes it extremely difficult to get it to sitting upright in the water. One of the finest modelmakers and hobby machinists in England had a #### of a time getting this thing to float and work. And the finished model weighs a ton. (not literally, but you get my drift...)

I'm not sure how experienced you are in modeling and fabrication; if you plan on RCing this model you are going to have your hands full.

BTW, the rivets are very overscale on this model as well.

thankyou for that info.As I have stated in past postings that I am still looking around for a kit that suits me in everyway before I commit to a large amount of dollars to. Any info of this type is very welcomed because like they say "I don`t want to be stuck with a pig in a poke" .My father always told me "when you have a problem always go to the experts for an answer",thats why I`m here, plus it seems like a lot of good people hang around here.

Just go with the OTW kit.

It's the best on the market.

Unless it's too expensive for your pocket.

The Robbe boat looks good with the upgrades, plus it's a fairly easy model to assemble.
