Deep Water Autonomous Sub Questions

Hey everyone,
I am trying to make an autonomous sub about 5 feet in length that can go maybe 1000m deep that will have acoustic communications. I obviously have many questions, and was hoping some of you might be able to help]baker@vt.edu[/email] or replies on this forum are fine.

Check out 'Remus' at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. It's similar in size and capability to your concept, and the scientists/engineers there might be willing to share info with you. They were kind enough to show me around the lab when I exhibited my R/C sub at their tow tank at the Woods Hole Model Boat Show, a couple of years ago.
