Robbe U47 Torpedo doors - Opening mechanism

Hi Guys'

I have just cut out and fitted torpedo doors to my Robbe U47.
I am now trying to devise a way to get them to open and close. I have considered several options but they do seem somewhat complicated to install. Has anyone managed to find a simple way to get the doors to open and close? Also I will only be able to get the top doors to open as screw joiner rod will be in the way of the lower doors.
Any ideas would be much appreciated.
