Well guys,

I wished I could say that work on the type IX in 32 scale was underway but regrettably it is not. 5 years since ordering and counting.
The manufacturer stated the hull was boxed-up and ready to go but this was nearly 14 days ago and still no word when it actually will be send.
I really hope this guy is what estemed members of the SC say about this manufacturer, but I'm getting desperate in believing this.

A sceptical and not so convinced anymore

I am getting about two weekends a month to work on it, but it seems to be progressing nicely... I will have to be deciding on my ballast tank soon. I want to have something that floats for the regatta in june.

        Still working on the tower

Still working on the tower of Bobs OTW Type VII ..........hope to progress to the hull very soon - that is, of course, in between fits and starts at trying to finish a Shelby Cobra replica (only been at that for 4 years now!) I wonder which will be operational first ?

          Well I have more projects

Well I have more projects right now than I care to list, but the main one is of course my 1/72 Gato (USS Silversides). I am also converting a large (50") electric PT boat model to two-stoke weedeater engine power. Working on MANY static models and R/Cing Maquette's 1/400 Alfa. Also I am trying to build a firing model of a WWII German flak gun. In the planning stage right now is a 1/72 missle-firing K-19. I am sure I forgot several projects in this list; I have way too many. Anyway, below are some photos of my Gato]http://www.subcommittee.com/forum/pic1.JPG[/img]

The brass prop I made for the 1/400 Alfa:

Not a sub, but it is neat anyway. My PT boat:

          Enjoy!

              Thank you!

And yes, I am going to (try and) R/C the Alfa. It is kind of fun to see what building from a kit is like for a change, without paying the price of a bigger model sub. I think the Alfa cost like $3.99 or something. Don't have much time for it though, I need to get the Gato done or I won't have anything to bring to the Regatta.

                I've got lots happening, too.

Most of my time is concentrated on my 1]. I had to completely rework the stern in order to make it anywhere close to scale.. a real pain considering its a kit. Now that the stern is done, control surfaces are next, followed by the internal linkages.

A side project has been the completion of my underwater video system. I've obtained a housing to replace the one that Greg and I whipped up for my video camera. Dave Merriman with D&E is looking at furnishing these, and I got an evaluation version to put together. It's a slick unit, and I'm anxious to get to the sea trials and get some video.

Also on the back burner is my Revell Type VII and my Japanese Type "B" as the I-26.
