I'm looking at my Heller 1/400 model of the Le Redoutable SSBN and can't find the torpedo doors. And I wonder where they were located in the bow and what shape they had.
Do a Yahoo or Google image search for "SNLE", and you will find several photos. I havent found anything yet, though, showing the torp doors.
Also, this boat is now on display to the public in France. If I remember correctly there is a website with some excellent close ups.
I also have the Heller model, and from what I can see it is generally correct for such a small model, in comparison to the pictures available to the public.
[color=#000000]eckloss,
I was looking for a good pic of the bow of the sub for months, the site you mentioned has a lot of good pics but none from the bow.
Le Redoutable never had any counter rotative props !
Another mistake of the kit. But close enough for a good model basis.
I have more pics but I am not allowed to post them on a public forum. I can share them though if you can provide me a blank CD and if you pay the postages. I have +200 pics...
Same for you Erich. (You have to assure me you won't share these pictures too, they are not for the public domain)
