    While watching sub disasters on - the military channel last night

    They were talking about the USS Scorpion. They showed photos of the tail section had stove piped into the main section of the sub. What would have caused that and how did the sub design allow that to happen? It was as if some shrunk the sub in half.

    One of the specials I had seen on Scorpion/Thresher/etc said that it was the implosion of the hull and subsequent collapsing of the bulkheads (due to pressure) that did that to Scorpion.
