    Both games are great, Enigma

Both games are great, Enigma has great voice commands but as you know we are still waiting for the networking/Mutiplayer
platform to show up as they have been promising us for most of the year. SHIII looks to be the King come next month when it's released. Maybe we can start up a game server and play in Wolfpacks? Is this game compatible with Destroyer Command? that was the one thing I liked about those two games being able to play against the other.

I like you..waiting and waiting for both games.

      not sure about destroyer command

not sure about destroyer command but there is another new release called "Dangerous Waters" by Sonalysts Combat Simulations (Jane's 688(I), Fleet Command, Sub Command). You can play as a submarine, Perry-class frigate, Seahawk ASW helo, and a P-3 Orion plane.... pretty cool stuff

        I'm waiting too. This has

I'm waiting too. This has to be the best yet and will cause me to go for another gig of ram and a top of the line card because this game will max out your system.

You better have at lease a gig of ram and a fast processor. Also the better the graphics card the better.

I work in 3D animation for a living and I'm told already that a gig of ram and the card I'm using for open GL won't be near enough to enjoy this game with the settings maxed out.

But what ever is needed it will be worth it. And yes we should do up a server so we can all play together. We could have it every Friday or Saturday night with a password just for SC users and members.

I have a friend who can host as he's been hosting Desert combat for us every week.

Game won't be out until Feb so it gives us time to max out our systems.

        Can't wait!

          I think my system is

I think my system is quick enough with a 256meg video card
and I forgot how much system memory I have, I know it won't hurt to slam a extra gig in there.
Last time I check I *think* it can hold 3 gig of ram.
2.0 gig AMD chip... love those AMDs.

I think the server idea is wonderful, I'm in for saturday night if the wife won't kill me.

            I’m in the sim community

I’m in the sim community and can answer a few questions.

A few months ago I had the pleasure of meeting the creator of Enigma and the group is working on the multiplay. It will come, but it just takes a while.

Right now it doesn’t look like there will be a Destroyer Command 2. SH3 will only be a coop type multi where you and other subs can Wolfpack against AI escorts/convoys. Word is that if (and a big if) SH3 sells enough that they might consider DC2.

Yes, you will need at least a gig of ram for SH3 and a high end card. If you don’t it looks like your crew is the Blue Man Group. LOL.

Here is a link to a hand on review of SH3]http://www.subsim.com/ssr/sh3_1104/preview_sh3_oct04.htm[/url]

That should be in the SH2/DC community. After reading that I thought it could be taken wrong. Sorry. I didn't see a way to edit a post that you have made.

It's ok, by then I will be ready to play
I've collected Sub Sims for years and enjoyed them to the point where I would stay up all night before I knew I had to be at work in 2 hours

Oh well if this game looks as good as the talk, I'm taking the week off to play

Enigma has a demo that's pretty good for free. You get to play Corvette or comand a Gato class sub. Go to their website and download the demo if you guys don't already know about it.

                    i downloaded it like months

i downloaded it like months ago and didnt like it... the graphics were ok but just dont compare to the ingame footage link i posted above, you watch that and tell me you would still buy enigma over sh3....
dangerous waters looks ok but not a definate purchase yet lol... the multiplayer feature of being able to choose sub, surface or air is kinda cool...but sh3 still has my vote.. and i have had their 688, sub command already so i know it will be a good product... just wish it did have the voice command of the enigma....

                      My wife or son bought

My wife or son bought the game for me last year for Christmas and I have been in love every since

Of course I love my oldest game as well, Fighting Steel which has been updated many many times since 1999!!
Nothing like the Big guns of Battleship!

                        Wingtip,

No I agree and I have seen all the videos and pictures. Simply the best yet. One of the things you just can't wait for.

In the mean time I have been enjoying Enigma as a tie me over.
