The December issue

The December issue went through final proofs last week. They are currently being printed and will then be mailed out.

The December issue is running late, partly due to my inexperience and partly due just plain bad luck. We had to send things to the printers twice because of a problem in the PDFs caused by cutting and pasting text into PageMaker from OpenOffice. We've never used OpenOffice for cutting and pasting into PageMaker before, and it gave us a nasty surprise than did not show up until the PDFs arrived at the print shop.

The stuff was two weeks late getting sent to the printers the first time due to my training and coming up to speed on everything. The snafu with the PDFs caused an additional two week delay, mostly because I was out of town on business by the time the print shop found the problem.

I will post an update when I know the December Issue has been printed and shipped.

The good news is that I will be turning the staff loose on the articles for the March issue this week. My goal is to have the March issue out on time, which I believe is achievable.
