I will order some kits from SUBTECH,but they said they're moving firm from us to uk.and will supply models in middle of november,but I still not informed availiable.
Does anyboby know when they can re-supply?What happened with SUBTECH and their models?

Have you ever been contacted by, or supplied anything to these guys, or have they just gone around grabbing all our photos off the internet? I see that as well as all the Albacore photos (Dave Merriman won't be happy!) that they have 'Thor Designs' labels showing in some of the photo's.

I did saw their website about a months ago. At that moment, I'm not sure are their submarine kits copied from Thor design and smallworld.

But in this evening, I goto their website again and found more information about it. Even a close up of Matt's packing and realise that they are buying the kit from Thor design or through his agent.

So, I sent an email to Mr. Matt for his confirmation.

I've already post a new topic with the link. please spent your time and check with this company.

I don't want to see all your hardworking been stolen by these lazy people. As I did saw a lousy WTC they selling but orginally it belongs to small world model.

Ofcause, if they really sellig your products without coping it. Then I'm wrong. But whats happen if they copied your design?

Fair competition in the marketplace

Fair competition in the marketplace is a good thing, if that is what it is. Theft of intellectual property however, is something completely different.

As far as Dumas "quality" goes, their kits are billed as entry-level, and they are reflective of such. I am a customer of theirs (as well as ThorDesign, Subtech, et al) and yes, the kit is not as well engineered as one of Matt's, but then again, I didn't pay for that. I wanted something cheap, simple to build and easy to run for my kids, and that is what I got. In addition, I have found their customer service to be top-notch.

Back to the original post, I think we as a group have done a good job in letting each other know if there appears to be a case of fraud (ala Richard Morgan). I personally would like to thank Tommy for letting us know about this.

The chinese copy practically everything else when it comes to hobbies, toys etc, and do you know why they do this, they do this because they can get away with it and maybe in their country( and I use the term loosely) they haven't done anything wrong.

Someone else on this thread was complaining about Dumas quality....you want to talk about quality, quality and most of chinese manufacturing should NOT be used in the same sentence. I am not saying that china cannot put out quality..........they can just as well as any other manufacturer can. But there manufacturing is geared to quantity NOT quality. One may ask for an eg]
