Membership renewal - Fees due reminders

G'day guys.
I am thinking that its about time to post in my renewal card for SC membership fees for 2005.
Has membership renewal cards been sent yet? If so when were they sent? I have not got mine yet and typically I like to pay now as international Christmas mail from Australia to the US can be slow.
Do you advise I wait until I get the renewal or can I pay now.

You can post your renewal to Jim even without the renewal card itself.......or if you're comfortable, e-mail or call Jim with a VISA/MC number.

When will we be able to join/renew online via the site? A simple PayPal app would handle it.

We're hurting our retention by not enabling people to do this in such an easy manner. The renewal card, check writing, get it in the mail procedure pales in comparison to filling out a web form when I'm already logged onto the SC site.

Count me in on cheering for PayPal (or similar). Having to cut a check or call in a VISA number seems so archaic nowadays.

Apart from the way to

Apart from the way to pay. Is there still going to be a print version (4 times) next year? I live in Europe, and the ONLY reason I'm paying for the subcommittee is the magazine. I don't go to regattas and meeting since it would cost me the price of a sub marine to attent one. I don't have a clue who continues the work of editor and such. The magazine looks great even thou I get it about 2 to 3 weeks later then the average american.

We are also taking a very serious look at incorporating PayPal into our membership renewal process........I can't promise/predict when we'll know what we're doing, but everyone clearly recognizes the desireability of making this happen sooner rather than later!
