    Chain drill the slots and

Chain drill the slots and file the edges smooth with a small needle file.

    Lots of patience.

Do a few at a time, then take a break, else you'll go mad.

Thank your lucky stars you didn't buy the XXI!

P.s. Maybe one of Jeffrey laRue's brass decks would fit?

P.p.s Consider using more up to date internals, better WTC etc.

      I planned to replace the

I planned to replace the box inside with a watertight bulkhead system, making compartments instead of a box to save space as a lot of it is wasted because the box dosent fit flush inside the hull.

Whos this person you were talking about for replacing the deck ? Ive never heard of him before ?

And what was wrong with their type 21 ?

        Jeffrey LaRue is Vice president

Jeffrey LaRue is Vice president of the sub committee, and he also supplies brass photoetched decks for the VII in a couple of different scales, including 1/48th scale.

There's nothing wrong with the Type XXI, it just has more vents than the VII (well it looks that way to my eyes) which means more drilling and filing- enough to make you go half daft!

I'd rather use a cylinder than boxes or sectioned off parts of the hull, but that's my personal preference.
