OOOPS!!! Sorry guys, I accidentally pressed the wrong button and posted the unfinished topic well, anyways : What was the technology like on the RC subs back then? Anybody have pictures of maybe some early examples?
I have an origional hardback copy of the book "Model Making" by Raymond Francis Yates, 1919 edition. Chapter 23 is entitled "A model submarine with radio control", and consists of 40 pages detailing everything from the hull construction (8' long!) to the details of propulsion, control surfaces, and how to manufacture and install the radio control mechanisms. Amazing stuff!

What was the RC subs' hulls made of back then? I assume it might not be fiberglass because it was not discovered by then (then again, I might be wrong....... ), maybe wood or plastic?
