Total Newbie - info on subs

Hello, I'm completely new to this as you might have guess from the topic title. I wants to do some research on largemouth bass and I figured that the easiest and maybe the cheapest way have a good looks at these fishes in their environment and not disturbing them at the same time is to have an RC sub equipped with a video camera that can transmits real time images. Can one be build that compact can dives deep (to 30 ft or more), send clear video signal, have a way to indicates what depth it's at and it location. Thanks in advance.

    Tim Smalley built a fairly

Tim Smalley built a fairly inexpensive ROV with the setup that you're talking about. He's chronicled his endeavor at the link below]http://www.rc-submarines.com/id62.htm[/url]

Scroll down until you see the white, boxy looking thing.

    Hope this helps.

      The design for mine came

The design for mine came from a children's book called "Build Your Own ROV". I just added a few items like a camera etc.

And if you want to see more types of homebuilt ROVs, ROV weblinks etc, join the Yahoo ROV group at The Yahoo ROV group

            That ROV is pretty cool!

That ROV is pretty cool! can it hover and how much noise does it make with those six bilge pumps? downside to both of the AquaView and ROV is the cord attached. I wants something cordless so I can sneak up on them from a distance. If they are in shallow water I can still see them with the boat stay in deeper water. Am I going over my head here? I've been reading and it seems like most model sub don't go beyond the 6-10 ft depth range due to pressure.

              You can't expect wireless TV

You can't expect wireless TV transmission from any great depth or distance under water. When my wireless TV camera tranmitter's antenna is more than an inch underwater, there is no reception on the monitor back on shore.
However, in a clear pool, with the antenna just above water, and the camera lens below the water surface, I can read a sign under water 40 ft. away.

                Dont think you can get

Dont think you can get very close to fish with a R/C sub. i think because the fish can here the electrinics ie;motors and such. i would think a fish would here an R/C sub way off and it would sound like two open steel fifty five gallon drums with landscaping rock inside while being rotated at high speed with your head inbetween each drum?! get the pitcure?
when we had the Breckinridge fun run there was some fish in the water and no matter what i tryed to do(coast in at low rpm's) the fish were long gone before i even got close. i have also tryed the same game with ducks to but to no avail they
are gone before i even get close. I figure if you can get your
boat within five feet of a duck submerged and it dosent know your there
then your are pretty good with R/C sub spec ops!! but once they detect you(swim away) games up!!

                  Wow I didn't know these

Wow I didn't know these thing are that loud, does it take a good size electric motor to power it? generally how big is an average RC sub? I know in a real sub their communication is through low freq. and extremely high power equipment which not possible in a model, do you guys know if they transmits video signal? I guess I needs to look for different method of doing research.
