I have seen that the front dive planes of WWII japanese sumarines are retractable, however they do not seem to retract the the ones from a Type XXI, nor a Gato/Balao, nor a russian modern sub.
Any idea how these get folded ?
Yep, I know. The swing in-wards towards the front, over laping one another. If i can find a set of plans showing this in the basement, I'll post them here.
