To build or not to build Revell type VII - Should I start the boat

    Hello all
I am asking everyones opinion on whether I should start to build my Revell type 7 as is or wait for an RC unit to be developed for it? I know Norbert has a unit but I have heard nothing about it except from his website which is dated. I have just finished cleaning out the hull flood holes and I have acquired brass decks and Andrea's conning tower crew. Just itching to go but I really want to make this a working boat and I am no engineer/electrician able to design my own system. Opinions?
    cheers

    The detail of the static

The detail of the static kit, especially with the
add-ons you describe, is NOT a good combination with
the wear & tear of an operational one.
Have a second look at the barrel of the 2cm gun.
And the Hydrophone. How long will they last ?

So, If you already bought the add-ons, make a static
    masterpiece.
Then buy another revell VIIc kit. leave off everything
that cannot withstand dropping it on the floor and R/C
    what remains.

Maybe, just maybe, if you really want, you could also
consider making a surface boat instead of a fully
operational one. This would make the R/C bit a LOT
    easier.

      hi Dave, you wanted an

hi Dave, you wanted an opinion well heres mine, seems like I have alot of them lately .... Just jump in and build the dang thing!! Hey, instead of waiting for someone else to build something that will work in it, you might come up with your own ideas that some other guy might want to use. Thats the advise I got when I started my first RC sub, it was my first RC anything,,, 1/48 SSY fleetboat, and it ended up being the best one of the bunch. I know this is a small model to work with, Jim Butt made a really well running Krick with no ballast tank at all that held a perfect periscope depth, I plan on doing something similar with my Revell VII,,,, just do it man!!!!! and have fun. Hey, you asked, Jeff Jones sc#258

        I built my first one

I built my first one as a surface ship, and it has given me valuable ideas for the second one, that will be fully operational. It is my recommendation that you build the ship.
