Good Lord so many thnigs are happening here within the Committee. Skip, I see you are heading off into the sunset. I am so glad I had the oppertunity to talk to you and do business with you before you left. Good luck and God's speed.
Of course my "on the way" is my Thor's 688 boat. I have the hull construction and planes installed. I have the WTC and radio gear. I even made my hull stand out of 4 Gaterade bottles. Now I am just waiting on the linkage hardware the runs between the WTC and planes. My other "former on the way" is the Duma Akula. Former because I have discovered I HATE VACUME FORM! Thats ok, I am glad I learned that now than later. Anybody want to buy a new Akula?
As for content for the SCR, I am doing a article on my 688 experiance. As soon as I get my 688 in the water, the SCR will have an article about the first sub built in Iraq! ya ya ya, another "my first kit" kind of article I know. But I guess I have to start somewhere.
And David Merriman... I read the article and good Lord man I had no idea of your history and level of expertice. I knew you had "something" to do with Red October but all the rest! Ok, enough hero worship... At my first SubRegatta I sure hope you don't mind eager, starving, new comers hanging around.
Lets see..... The little bast.... have not killed me or anybidy else in my battalion yet. But thats not for a lack of trying. The toll is holding at 2 KIA and 39 wounded. And yes, the majority still feel we are here for a duty and purpose. The moral here is still above average. We all get free time once a week or so to just take a deep breath and relax a bit. My battalion is not one of the ones you may be watching on TV. Well it might. I do't see a lot of news lately. We are making big strides in the rebuilding Baghdad. They all don't hate us. Just most of the folks fro outside Ira coming in to start trouble. They die just as easily. One of my jobs is to create and maintain a website focused on the better things of our stay. It is intended for the families to view so there is nothing but good news. www.1-153infantry.org
Ya'll take care and thanks for all your messages and support.
