2005 SubRegatta, Carmel - who sets the date in stone?

After last weekends SubRon6 fun run it was said that the 2005 SubRegatta will be held in Carmel In.. Who actually makes the decission on which weekend it will be held? Can we get an offical date set in stone so the planning can begin? SubRon6 is dedicated to make this a 1st rate SubRegatta. My XO is also wanting to help with the planning. There was much discussion on this last weekend, and a lot of good ideas were brought up, but most importantly is a date needed to work with. Thank you in advance, still "Pumped" up from last weekend, the show must go on......... Jeff Jones sc#258

.....in addition to choosing a date, both SubRon6 and the EC need to get together on a couple of details necessary in order to officially make the Carmel location the site of the next SubRegatta......

      Sounds good Jeff, who do

Sounds good Jeff, who do we need to contact? I can give them a call this weekend and check back with Tim and John. Basically all we need is where its going to be offically posted, and a date. Already heard back from some of the guys in Carmel, and some of the details are already being worked out. From conversations last weekend, all the City wants to know is what do we need from them. Sounded like the biggest hurdle was getting an offical date posted. On with the show~~~~~~ thanks in advance. Jeff Jones

        Hi Jeff,

Well....the first thing that would help would be to understand who the regatta committtee is and who is the regatta chairperson. (I guess that's really two things!)

Then let's get this conversation going with Jim Wheeler and me so that we can nail down dates, funding, and such!

          The 2005 Great Lakes Scale

The 2005 Great Lakes Scale Model Boat Show & Regatta is scheduled for July 16-17, 2005 in Canton, MI. The advance flyer for the regatta says it's hosted by the Michigan Scale Model Boat Club; and co-hosted by the Indy Admirals, Maumee Valley Model Boat Club (Toledo, OH), and the Three Rivers Scale Model Boat Club (Ft. Wayne, IN). The Carmel site is home waters for the Indy Admirals. Some of the SubRon6 members, like myself, are already making room reeservations and other arrangements to attend the Great Lakes Regatta in Canton on July 16-17. I suggest that the SubRegatta be held on July 30-31 - it gives us 2 weeks between 2 big regattas in the area.

              Be strong MIT, be strong,

Be strong MIT, be strong, nothing has been decided yet! From what I gather, a change might do the SubCommittee good. New waters to explore, more central location, Better drive for a lot of folks, and a group of guys (SubRon6) who would really like to give it a shot. Not to mention clear water in a pond thats 3' deep and larger than a football field. Might be fun. Ok, I had a few beers, go ahead and body slam me for being in favor of a change...... Jeff Jones

MIT.... your joking right?!? the issue of relocating the regatta has be a heated debate on and off for several years
now and has been overshadowed by the issue of the editorship in the past few months!!!!!! you may want to
