I am searching for technical drawings of a British U Class boat for an R/C scratch built project I would like to do (I would like to model HMS Unseen but any U class would do). I cant find drawings of these boats anywhere. Nor have I been able to find a single kit. If you could help it would be much appreciated. Thanks---Jason

Try Metcalf Mouldings.
[b]Royal Navy U Class (Group 2) Submarine
The "U Class" were originally ordered by the Royal Navy in 1936 as 3 unarmed training ships, however with war looming a further 49 units were ordered as single hull coastal submarines.
These boats had a shallow maximum diving depth of just 200ft and were not really suitable for use in the mediterranean (where quite a few were lost) owing to the clearness of the waters where they could be seen submerged on a fine day by spotter aircraft.
Most had four bow torpedo tubes, although four of the last build had a raised bow and two additional tubes fitted above the pressure hull under the casing.
Our set of white GRP mouldings consists of ]The Nautilus Drydocks - Exceptional Products for the World of R/C Submarines - www.nautilusdrydocks.com

I have very detailed drawings
I have very detailed drawings (two sheets) of HMS Undine, Unity, Ursula. Plan, profile, sections. Drawings dated 18 February, 1939. Vickers-Armstromg LTD. Included are inserts showing modifications to HMS Ursula, April 1942, by Chatham dockyard. Detail plan of bridge too. Only deck gun details not shown. Below photo of HMS Usurper's bridge from the tender. Other image is of HMS Vulpine a 'V' class with a fixed 'dummy' German schnorkel unit for training RAF Coastal Command aircrews to spot the genuine article. Drown all nazis.
Contact me if serious. Must pay copying and shipping costs.
