          ToothFairy,

          Yet to be determined based

          ToothFairy,

Yet to be determined based on the fact that Dave is close to but not quite done the master yet. That being said I think that all of Dave's customers will agree that his products are good.

I personally am betting $849 that it will be a winner.

          Cheers

            It is a beautiful model

It is a beautiful model from what I have seen. Very accurate, no .....darn perfect. I provided much of the reference material, but it is Dave's beautiful execution that has to be seen to be truly believed. Wonderful! Dave Manley's method of casting the pump jet shroud & stern as one piece eliminates much chance for error in alignment without sacrificing scale fidelity.

The shroud is actually cast as part of the stern section of the kit. It is this way because of the tolerances need to be very precise (blade tip propulsor clearance to the shroud - remember this is 1/96th scale!). Casting this as one piece, the model builder has much behind him or her already in completing this kit successfully. Because of these fine tolerances the PJ performance will blow you away Dave has reported.

The British pump jets have smaller (in chord length) shrouds and bigger rudders proportionately to deal with boat turning issues compared to American SSN's. This still means responce to helm in turning will still be less than a sister vessel without a PJ shroud, but will afford perhaps somewhat better turning than models of American SSN's because of their longer PJ shrouds?

Dave has incorporated the chines around the anechoic tiles representing the vessel (Trenchant) circa present day. It represents perhaps the most generic look of all the boats in this marvelous class of SSN's.
