    Check out subtech in the

    Check out subtech in the banners above.

    They make great beginner subs such as the Marlin and Albacore, however they are not dynamic divers.

    They also sell the Dumas akual dynamic diver, but they have an upgrade kit for it as well.

    Other great entry level subs are the Thordesign Permit and Alfa but those are static divers as well.

    www.rcboats.com --> subtech
    www.atomicsubs.com --> thordesing vendor
    www.thordesign.com --> to see pics of the subs.

      hi Bill,

      Welcome to the hobby!

      The best place to go for an all-up starter kit would be Skip Asay of SubTech. Check out his web site at SubTech and then give Skip a call. He's great to work with!

              Try FAXing him instead of e-mail.

              I bought my Akula kit (love it!) & extra goodies from Skip and as I'm a relative newbie, also had a good few questions for him I understand he's a pretty busy chap and found that he'd respond quicker to a FAX than an e-mail. But his responses were always very helpful and much appreciated in finally getting my sub in the water.

                  You may also wish to try Dave Manley's Blueback model. I don't have any personal experience with it, but I hear good things....
