I am building a radio controlled torpedo scale 1/8. Need help with constructing gear box for contra rotating props. Better still is it possible to buy a ready made unit?

Pat]otwdes@msn.com[/url])... he has a counter-prop set for the torps for his Seehund kit, although meant for 'temporary' (non-continuous use). Also, Dave Merriman has done some work on a SubTech Albacore Phase IV counter set, that I believe might be in a SCR back issue (not sure of issue #). I'm not sure if he or Skip (SubTech) has this unit/parts available, but it will shorten your learning/development curve to get with these folks and see 'what won't work' as it were.
Good luck, figure it out, make it work, take lots of pictures, write an article for the SCR.

Here is a website that shows how a guy built a 1/20 scale electric torpedo with counter rotating props.
He has one with a gearbox (below)
and one with two motors spinning concentric shafts
Best of all, they seem to work!
