Hello, it is nice to hear from new people interested in subs. I am still working on my first sub so you are probably ahead of me. Have you had a chance to look at the SC (SubCommittee) reports on the home page?

These reports contain everything from real subs to information on how to build a sub.

Also keep an eye on the message boards. It is a good way to get tips and if you have a question there is almost always someone there to answer or give direction.

…which you will be a part of a group of people in your area that you can contact for help or just to talk to.

Not to sound like a sales pitch (I get nothing out of it) but if you have friends that you may think may have an interest in subs spread the word. In the SubCommittee I have made friends with many world wide that are interested in what I like to do. Building subs.

Thanks for the welcome. I definately plan on joining, but it won't be in my immediate future. I just spent a ton of money on auto repairs, so even tho 26.00 is very reasonable, it will be a bit before I feel comfortable spending any amount on a hobby. My wife and kids have to come first.

As for me, I've built plastic model kits, but I've never attempted to build an R/C ship or sub, nor have I attempted to scratchbuild an entire ship. My "goals" for right now are to build a 1:144 scale guided missile cruiser and a 1:144 or 1:96 scale K-162- that is if I can find some nice scale drawings of her (or him?).

Again, thanks for the welcome, and thanks for your patience as I re-build my savings account. And if anyone has a source for plans or can point out they exist within the subscription part of the site, I'd be greatful!
