If only I could've gotten the camera a little closer to the water... Has anyone else attempted to reproduce famous photographs with their models?

Does the real one seem to be about 15% wider? I always thought the real Thresher/Permit was wider than the model represents.

I think it is the slightly different angle of the camera and the fact that the boats are riding at slightly different surfaced trim.
