Here in Austin I have started going to monthly meetings with the Navy League. I just missed meeting the Commander and Chief of the boat in the meeting before where they talked as guest speakers. I have been told they will be back later to give progress updates.
There is some talk of doing the commissioning of the Texas in Corpus Christie. It would be a 3 hour drive for me and you bet I would be there.
They are raffling off ballcaps for the Texas at each Navy League meeting and will have other memorabilia to raffle soon. I will post as I watch the progress.And,on the next trip down here, I will pull the commander to one side and talk to him.
