Lindberg 1/72 scale IJN I-53 submarine and Kaitens

Hey 3D printer guys, is anyone making the correct bow for the Lindberg 1/72 scale IJN I-53 submarine and Kaitens. Merriman made one years ago but it never made it to production. If you are, email me at dhampton@ameritech.net. I was on facebook that a member is doing the I-400, do both boats have the same bow configuration? Thanks Dave.

I did some 3D modeling work for the Naval Undersea Warfare museum in Keyport, WA about ten years ago. They have what is arguably one of the best Type 1 Kaitens in the world and I went to town with a tape measure and set of calipers. The starboard side is cut away, showing off the interior. I've attached a few renders, and have many close-up reference pictures of the interior / exterior. If you're ever in the area, the museum is free and open to the public, adjacent to the main gate of the base.

As for 3D printing, I may add it to my list of hulls to print, but that list is long and it wouldn't be anytime soon.
