Hello everyone & help

Hello everyone my nane is Allan I live in UK , I am new to the world of model submarines I got a old 1995 model of a german mini sub called "Seehund"in need of some work . I made a new Korts rudder for it as it was missing, rubed dowd & re painted the hull. In the WTC is 3 compartments center is for water ballest, one end is pumps & micro switchs, other end is motor,2 servos rudder & rear dive planes, speedcontroller & a 4ch RX, everything works fine on the bench now my problem is ( bet you've guest already ) the rubber seals on the WTC ends have perished. I have tryed 2 4mm "O" rings but thease are to big to dont let the end plates sit right , is there some sort of rubber compound in a tube that wont glue the ends to WTC ?? or what ever .
sorry to be a pain but would be greatfull for any help
regards to all Allan

hi Allan,

This might be one

hi Allan,

This might be one of the Craycraft Seehunds (sold by OTW). The description of the dive module sure sounds like it. Is the ballast tank a sealed, pressurized type? ...and is it an air pump/compressor?

You may wish to try contacting OTW (otwdesigns@hotmail.com) and see what Bob dimmack has to say!

Another option

Hi Allan]http://www.subcommittee.com/forum/icon_smile.gif[/img]
Another option if the others don't work out, is www.smallparts.com who sell o-ring material in different diameters and the cement to make your own o-rings.

Best, Ed

Hi Allan,

Well....that doesn't look like

Hi Allan,

Well....that doesn't look like an OTW dive module. At least not the ones that I've seen!

The advice to go to smallparts (or even McMaster-Carr]www.mcmaster.com) to get replacement o-rings should work fine.

Allan
I've just dug out "Model Boats" from September 1996 when they did a comprehensive review of the Craycraft SEEHUND. Whilst the hull may be Craycraft your WTC doesn't really match the one in the review except very superficially.

That module doesn't look like

That module doesn't look like it was made by Brian Cornelious (AKA Craycraft).

It's using a couple of MFA fuel pumps as opposed to the custom built twin cylinder compressor used in the original prototypes.

Brian did use grey tubing for his modules in the beginning, then transferred over to clear acrylic.

The Seehund hull was modelled by a guy called Dave Diplock, and was (perhaps still is) available direct from him, minus a dive module for those wishing to construct their own innards.

Looks like this is what you have here.
