    So you thought ALFA was the fastest....

    The Papa SSGN "Golden Fish" was the most expensive attack submarine produced by the Soviet Union. It had unmatched speed and an incredible first strike tactical payload.

    Great series, thanks for posting these.

    When the Papa was running at top speed, the water flow noise in the the torpedo room was so loud that the crew had to shout to be heard. As was the case with the Alfa, fast but very noisy and thus easy to track when running fast.
