    Hey Ed,

What a great story! Were you able to take any pictures? Or remember details of what you seen? It could be a real help for someone that may or might build that sub.

I am sure he had some good stories being part of the original crew. Every think about putting your experiences in the SCR?

    Thanks for sharing your experience,
    Brian

      Definitely a great story!

It might be useful for me to note that this type of reception is not at all uncommon. I find that when folks really understand how serious you are (and membership seems to aid in that), they really open up!

        I've toured the SEAWOLF and

I've toured the SEAWOLF and the TOLEDO. I spent an entire day aboard the USS MAINE at sea. Now, I suppose if I was along with members of the SubCommittee or the Navy, I still might have had the same opportunities. But I'd like to think that my membership sure helped put me in some amazing places.

          Now that is the stuff

Now that is the stuff I think all of us want to hear about. I have never been on a seawolf but would have wanted too. I would love to hear about your experience and what it is like.

This goes for everyone! I have been on a limited number of subs. So any stories you have are interesting to me and other people but they just don't speak up.

I look forward to hearing from you. This stuff is better than murder mystries. lol.

            Hi Guys]http://www.subcommittee.com/forum/icon_smile.gif
            I'll work

            Hi Guys]http://www.subcommittee.com/forum/icon_smile.gif[/img]
I'll work on typing up a story, maybe go back an see if I can take some pictures, etc. What I forgot to mention is the private tour for the wife and I was free! (Don't know if this would apply to everyone). If it had been a regular "paid" tour it would have cost more than my membership. Most of the time my press pass allows discounts and access to otherwise "restricted" areas. This was the first time I'd used my SubCommittee card and it was a surprise the card was considered more valuable.

I'm also working on a trip to Russia to see the real Typhoon. I believe that my card will be just as influential or at least make the difference as to being viewed as a serious sub'er or potential spy.

            Best, Ed

I'm taking the kids to Mobile this year to see the USS Drum. Just so happens I plan to leave a few SC applications lying around too.
