USS Casimir Pulaski - best kit to adapt ? - Yankee Modelworks has 2 Ben Franklins

Yankee Model Works has two Ben Franklin Class boats in 1/350th scale - YKM 35038, SSBN 626 USS Daniel Webster and YKM 35018 SSBN 641 Simon Bolivar.

The hull and sail designs are very close to the SSBN 633 USS Casimir Pulaski.

Which kit would be the best choice to adapt for Pulaski ?

    These are two different class

These are two different class boats -

Daniel Webster SSBN 626 = "Lafayette" (SSBN 616) class.
Simon Bulivar SSBN 641 = "Benjamin Franklin" (SSBN 640) class.

I was on the Henry Clay (SSBN 625) which was a "Lafayette" class boat. So, I believe that the Pulaski was a - "Lafayette" class boat.

So the Daniel Webster SSBN 626 would be the same class boat.

      Mike,
633 would be a "re-engineered" 616 class; 627-639 James Madison Class. Very minor outboard differences. Most obvious, if comparing pictures, is the location of the fairwater planes on the sail, vertically.

[color=#000000]Bill, I have to disput that.
According to the "United States Naval Submarine Force Information Book - 1996", the Casimir Pulaski (SSBN - 633) was a Lafayette Class, Lafayette Variant.
The other ships of that class were SSBN-616 to 636, excepting hull numbeer 621 which was USS Haddock (SSN- 621).
616 to 619, 625,628, 630, 633 and 635 were built at EB, in Groton, Ct.
620, 624, 627, 629, 632 and 634 were built at Newport News in Newprot News, Va.
622 was built at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Kittery, Me.
623 was built at Ingalls Ship Building, Pascagoula,Ms.
626, 631 and 636 were built at Mare Island Naval Shipyard, Vallejo, Ca.
Since Lafayette and Pulaski were of the same class, and built at the same yard, any differences would, probably, be undetectable at 1]

Sorry, Bill, my mistake. I just reread your post. I just presented additional info, not contridictory.
I also think his choice of the Webster is right. Different yards, but it should be real close. Same Class, same Variant.
Your point on the planes position is well taken. Jim Christley didn't get into that.
