    Introducing myself!

    Hello everybody!

Well here it goes! I'm a newcomer to the world of R/C subs - though I am no stranger to the world of R/C in general. I have flown all different types of R/C planes for quite a few years, and have built many of my own, both gas and electric. While aviation is my "first love," I have always had a fascination with submarines. I ended up selling off most of my R/C aircraft and equipment as I'm graduating college soon and I just didn't have the space or location to fly them anymore. After not having a project to work on for a long time, I started to look more into the world of R/C submarines.

After doing a copious amount of research (I started here!), I stumbled across a really nice looking Trumpeter 1/144th scale Kilo-class kit on eBay! After talking to the seller (who is awesome and goes by the username toypilot here and on eBay!), I decided to pull the trigger and start bidding - I just couldn't get the idea of building an R/C sub off my mind! Well, as luck would have it (or pure determination LOL), I won the auction and am now the proud owner of the beautiful kit!

I will be posting a build thread later today. I am pretty darn technically competent and creative, but this is a whole new world for me and there's a very good chance I will need some help and advice from all of you old-timers!

    See you all around!

Welcome! Look forward to watching your build!
      Peace,
      Tom
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

Hey eckloss! I am in Eastern South Dakota! I am fortunate to live near lots of sloughs (as we call them here) and ponds! Where are you located?

I'm in northern West Virginia. I was just asking in case you were close to some of our local groups.

Liam, glad you found your way over here and started this thread. I'm sure we all want to watch your Kilo project take shape and everyone here is always happy to help answer any questions you might have along the way. I'm really glad you got the Kilo and have most of what you already need to get her put together - parts wise. Don't forget we like pictures!
