Anyone know of a source for SMALL Dual Conversion FM 75mhz Receivers

    Hello

I was wondering if anyone knew of any source for Small physical size Dual Conversion FM 75mhz Futaba radio FM compatible receivers? I am planning on doing a couple of small R.C conversion static diving projects and need the small receivers so that they will fit inside a small WTC.

Any links would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    George

Why dual conversion? The smallest dual conversion Futaba available is the R148DF. Single conversion Rxs are much smaller and just as capable when properly designed.

Subtech carries 3 micro RXs that are futaba compatible and are single conversion.

      Hi Matt

I asked about D/C futaba receivers because that`s ALL I ever used. Would the ones you mentioned work with my Futaba TX that has D/C receiver?

Absolutely! As long as the Rx is tuned properly to the same frequency a single conversion Rx will work perfectly with your transmitter. I would recommend the Subtech SubCommander VI 7 channel Rx, or the Futaba R114F micro 4 channel, or the Futaba R156F micro 6 channel Rx. All 3 are excellent and are much smaller than the Futaba R148DF dual conversion Rx. Subtech stocks them all

          Hi Matt
I did a search on ebay for the Futaba R114F micro 4 channel, or the Futaba R156F micro 6 channel Rx and ALL I could see is the 72mhz version. Is it true that all that is needed to use these with a 75mhz TX is to use a 75mhz crystal with them?

A 72MHz receiver needs to be retuned to properly work with 75MHz crystals. Some here have used Radio Sourh to do the tuning.

              George,

No, that is incorrect. They 72 Mhz receivers must be tuned properly to operate reliably on 75 Mhz. We purchased large quantities of both the R114F and the R156F and had them all converted over to 75 Mhz, which is NOT cheap to have done. We carry only 75 Mhz receivers. The Subtech SubCommander VI has been an excellent unit and there are dozens of them in service with SubCommittee members all of the United States and Canada. If you buy a receiver from Subtech, the conversion to 75 Mhz is already complete.

When you purchase a receiver from Subtech it is also strongly recommended that you purchase the correct crystal from Subtech at the same time. That way we can tune and bench test your Rx to make 100% certain it is functioning properly. These all take very specific, single conversion crystals and not just any Futaba 75 Mhz crystal.
              Regards,

              Matt
