I need some help in the "o" ring department. In the past , I have ordered several o rings from the O ring store. They were too hard. So, what am I looking for when I need a softer O ring? The site has a zillion different types.....
Mcmaster has a pretty good range of o-rings that you can select from. A typical Buna N o-ring is a 70 durometer (around the hardness of a car tire). You can get soft Buna N o-rings that are a 50 durometer (a little harder than a pencil eraser). For water with chlorine in it, I like to use viton for sealing as it has excellent compatibility with chlorine. You can find them in a 60 durometer here at mcmaster. https://www.mcmaster.com/#o-rings/=1b4t77x
