    Cleat Dimensions

    Hi Folks,

Can anyone provide dimensions for the rolling cleats on US submarine? The photo shows the cleat on the Ohio SSGN. The diagram I found on a Russian web site.

I don't have any numbers, but if no one else pipes up there's an alternate way to get to close enough to what you need...

Look at the guy on the far left - his boot is at just the right angle. Measure out in the photo how many "bootlenghts" the cleats are, and come up with a reasonable guesstimate on how long a bootlength is. Then do the math. It won't be perfect, but chances are it'll be to within the degree of precision that you can make them at scale...

Somewhere in the first 12-15 SCRs, Jim Christly illustrated a bunch of details, with dimensions. BTW, an average boot for a US size 9 1/2, is one foot long (12 inches).
