The floodin while it is raining is a big problem.

But the thing to be concerned about is the flooding that come when the storm move away and drops on the surrounding hills and it started draining to the sea.

Glad to hear you are doing okay under the conditions Paul. Hopefully this passes soon so you can get back to normal.

O.K. not to make light the seriousness of this situation, but have you been tempted to run a sub and take photos?
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

Not to worry -- humor makes the difficult bearable. But I'm sorry to say, my brother-in-law beat you to the punchline. Unfortunately, I really don't have a boat to deploy at present.

We are still in good shape on my street but the subdivision to the north of us is flooded. We just did a reconnoiter and still have plenty of entry/exit points to the south. We still should come through okay but it is a bit nerve-wracking over time. We're still looking at rain tomorrow too.
            Warm regards,

Right now, our rain total for the storm is 30" in my location. The city of South Houston has had 43" over the same period. The good news is we seem to have turned a corner. The forecast is for 2" more over the next two days as the system heads east to Louisiana. All previous records are shattered.

But the city is doing what it does best -- coming together and getting the job done. We've got some flooded friends staying with us. People from all over SE Texas coming into town with boats doing rescues. I watched a guy get rescued from the second story of his house by boat on TV. His gated community is a river (water over the gates) and it is not too far from me. But our elevation is some 8' higher than the crest of the creek that caused all the flooding.

With work being closed I thought I might get some tinkering with a project done but there's just too much going on around here.
                    Warm regards,

By the way, this image is fake. I did see video of a catfish in a guys living room though.

I saw a photo of an alligator in a lady's back yard, this morning.
Not sure if real or not.

The alligator could be real. Haven't seen the image.

I think the alligator images you saw were real but from flooding during April of last year. Officials posted them as a caution to be on the lookout for them in certain areas.

I actually heard a bird chirp a little while ago!
