    Newbie just dropping by!

    Hi all,

My name is Scott and have been toying with making a sub for a little while and about a month ago I decided to bite the bullet and go for it. There is a lot of information out there for the newbie to follow and have already come across a few issues that I have worked around. So far I am really enjoying the process and I am documenting everything on my blog if you are interested in following my journey.

    My Blog

I hope to make some friends on here and also hopefully be a valued member of the forum. Please drop by and say hi if you want!

I look forward to sharing my adventure with you!

    Happy Sailing!

    Scott

    Scott,
Welcome aboard. When you start building, consider putting your build here on this forum as well. Look forward to seeing what you come up with and learning something new from you.
Consider joining SubCommittee, it will open up the member's area to you and all of our issues of SubCommittee Reports. It spans over a decade of magazines and contains a treasure trove of information.
What sub are you thinking of building?
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

      Hi Salmon,

Thanks for your message, I will certainly put my build on here. If I'm honest I have started my blog a little late as I have already completed the WTC and electronics and pleased to report all is working beyond expectations. I have took a few pictures that I will put up later on today.

Once pay day gets here I will join and become a member and hopefully meet some fellow Brits who would enjoy a meet or two! :-)

With regards to the kind of sub I was thinking of building...that is the question! I love the Astute Class but I think the design maybe a little too beyong me as yet. That being said, I may steal some elements and make my own class of sub. I am working on some intial drawings. I thinking of making it an "Avenger Class" sub and give it the name...HMS Avenger! ha ha!
