    Another legend is gone

I just received a phone call from Bud Lederer's son informing me of Bud's passing. Bud was a true legend in the R/C submarine fraternity who started building subs well before I did and that's a looonngg time ago. His fleet of subs (and surface ships, as well) was the envy of many.

    He will be sorely missed.

I am very sad to hear that. Bud was a very nice man and an incredibly brilliant person.

I read his name many times in the SCR. He won several categories at the first SubComLantMeet (SubMeet) as well as helped to organize it. He continued to win with his USS Ling, Type VIIC, and his U953. A talent and frontiersman that made our hobby what it is today. He was a true ambassador for SubCommittee. I wish I could have met him in person.
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

I'm sorry to hear this news. Bud was a gifted modeler, and a nice guy to talk to. He'll be missed.

The first thing that came to mind was a vision of a man standing in the water in waders. I met Bud a few times at the regattas. Really nice man.
                Thanks for posting Skip. BD

....odd...I have no problems with posting larger images from my MacBook. It must be an iPad thing.

Actually this time I used my Windows laptop to see if it was an Apple thing.
The photos were about 700k and they are still small.
It's me! O whoa is me! Lol BD
