    U.S. Navy take back?

Did anyone else see this about the Navy taking back artifacts from N.J.?

About 100 antiques on loan from the Navy are being demanded back from the New Jersey Naval Museum in Hackensack N.J. to prevent further decay to them.

I read an article last week.
The property was being sold to land developers for commercial use.
The museum was to move but when the Navy looked over the collection, they decided to take it back do to poor maintenance and decay.
The boat is the USS Ling, AGSS 297.

Not the first time they've taken back an asset. USS Croaker was taken back after a guy in Groton almost single-handedly destroyed it due to his ineptitude. Lack of maintenance and general ignorance will get you on the Navy's bad side in a heartbeat!!

This has been a known thing for several years, in fact. The Ling and the rest of the museum stuff has been on notice for a long time. Shame, too. NavSubScol used to send guys down to work on Ling. A good way to keep young sailors out of trouble!!
